Vulnerability exploitation is now the #1 initial attack vector when it comes to security incidents. In fact, in the last couple of years, there were more initial intrusions from exploitation of vulnerabilities in internet-facing applications than there were breaches involving malicious emails and compromised accounts combined. Even when you look past initial attack vector, vulnerability exploitation is still involved in over half of breaches, making it a huge risk to organizations.

To help give enterprise organizations better insight into the current state of vulnerability management, we created the following infographic which features some of the most important statistics around vulnerability exploitation from the last year to help set the stage around why this is such an important problem for security teams to focus on.
